John presented on the neuroscience of couples therapy at the annual Attachment, Trauma and Intimacy Conference alongside Dr. Richard Schwartz, Maggie Phillips, Diane Poole-Heller and Amir Levine. In addition to the 200 or so therapists in attendance, the presentation was also streamed to 5 different countries outside the U.S. including Australia, China, Canada and Germany. John was introduced and hosted by renowned trauma and attachment educator Dr. Diane Poole-Heller. John’s topic, “Bringing Interpersonal Neuroscience into Couples Therapy” highlighted ways psychotherapists can implement new science into their practices with couple clients.
John also covered important components of advanced couples therapy that are often overlooked in advanced couples therapy training. John was invited to present on this topic as 1 of 6 psychotherapy educators teaching new science principles along with Dr. Richard Schwartz, Founder of Internal Family Systems, Dr. Maggie Phillips of the Somatic Experiencing Institute, and Amir Levine, MD, the author of the best-selling book, Attached.
